Motors

NB! The most reliable are gray L 88003 or Mould King L + Monster Motors 👍.

The usual need for a blockfighting robot is 2-4 classic L motors (except v2 and black, too fast) for the landing gear and 1-2 Monster motors (or 1200rmp (v2)/1400 (black) rmp L motors) for the gun.

  • In the case of lifter-reclaimers, an XL engine is needed.
  • The improved coloured engines add speed above all, but lose torque, or in the case of the landing gear, the power to push and control the opponent, for example.
  • The M engine in the chassis is up to 20% slower, but is smaller.
  • The Power Functions and Powered Up L and XL engines are identical in terms of performance, the PU M is a bit weaker.
  • Power Functions (PF): these are simple DC motors. These are simple, low-powered motors. Their speed can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the voltage provided by the battery box/receiver. They have no internal sensors and there is no way of knowing their location or actual speed. They are built for raw, unregulated speed.
  • Powered Up (PU) and SPIKE: These are smart servo motors. They have integrated high-precision rotation sensors. You don't just give them power; you give them a command, such as “Start 75% at speed” or “Turn exactly 90 degrees”. The centre then uses an internal sensor to continuously adjust the power to maintain this precise speed even as the load changes. This is why their performance is so different.
